The Extraction Standard

The Vespera Bar Extraction Standard

At Vespera Bar, every espresso instrument, thermal kettle, gravimetric scale, and hand-blown borosilicate vessel is engineered around a single specialty coffee truth: sensory clarity in the cup is governed by grind concentricity, laminar thermal stability, and repeatable gravimetric flow.

1. Stage 01 — Micron Grind & Puck Distribution (38mm 7-Core CNC + 30lb Spring Calibration)

Channeling begins before water ever touches the coffee bed. Our 5-axis CNC 420 stainless steel conical burrs are machined to a 0.02mm dual-bearing shaft concentricity across 38 stepped micro-clicks, paired with our 0.35mm 8-needle WDT declumper and 30lb constant-force rim-guided spring tamper on solid American black walnut.

2. Stage 02 — Laminar Thermal & Pressure Extraction (1°C PID & 20-Bar Micropump)

  • 1°C / 1°F Stepless Strix-Grade PID: Holds exact water temperatures from 75°C–80°C for ceremonial Uji matcha up to 92°C–96°C for high-altitude washed pour-over with a 60-minute isothermal hold.
  • 20-Bar Cordless Thermal Espresso Architecture: Heats filtered water to 92°C (198°F) via a 7800mAh USB-C thermal core and pulls rich, tiger-striped hazelnut crema from fine espresso grounds or capsules anywhere.
  • Zero Plastic Contact Path: All hot-water and coffee extraction pathways utilize surgical 304 stainless steel and lab-grade 3.3 high-borosilicate glass.

3. Stage 03 — Gravimetric Flow Telemetry & Sensory Vessels

Our dead-front matte-obsidian 0.1g load-cell scale tracks real-time pour speed in grams per second (g/s), auto-taring and starting the extraction timer at first drop into our suspended double-wall smoked borosilicate tasting glasses or 1280°C kiln-fired obsidian chawan.
